You dont need a "Dan Brown" to flock ppl here. Leonardo did the trick thousands of years back.

My attempt in about 5 permissible seconds near the masterpiece..!!

to be honest I dun see anything so great abt the Mona Lisa painting...sorry fans :( but can someone tell me why this painting is so popular?

Yup and fell in love with a lot of his other works after, after a glance at the originals. Tooooo good..!!

Monalisa draws praises since times when painters drew appreciation for their depiction of real people or places or objects. Photography being absent,it was the best medium for conveying reality.

After the advent of camera, painters lost meaning in bringing real images to people and hence found solace in abstract topics like "Modern Art".

And since creating that "Wow effect" emotions in a painting depicting
reality is a daunting task, Monalisa is adored. More so because it has no parallels in its contemporaries or ever since..!!

lol, By the way way Keshi, analogously, there are innumerable fan-clubs of "Ben-Hur" but it never moves me now. Something similar happens here.

Wow, Louvre is an absolute pleasure to dig the treasures of best paintings, sculptures, arts and antiques. I remember spending almost the entire day in that mighty meuseum and at the end thought was not enough..Hope you enjoyed it

hmm mona lisa... well aint too fond of this painting myself... but it sure has some mysticism attached... very beautifully painted... but still i aint really a fan of her smile...

dewdrop : Entire day...!!! I envy you...!! Unfortunately I had to cover all I can in about one hour. We were four of us, and just went running and running all the time, Sometimes even got lost when one of us got hooked at a painting and the others moved on..!!
A fantastic experience nevertheless..!!
